Testimony

Hey what up. I just wanted to share my testimony. Please excuse me if my grammar is bad. So here we go. I grew up all my life like most young Christians. I was raised in a Christian home, went to a Christian school. I did the whole thing. My whole life I was taught that all you had to do was to say a prayer and you would go to heaven and everything would be good. I was completely wrong.

But back then I thought I was a Christian. When I was a little kid I was in and out of Churches, my family and I never belonged to a Church. I never felt like I was comfortable at Church. And I never wanted to go to Church. I hated the fact that I would have to wake up early and go to Church.

When I got to High School I went down the totally wrong path. My friends and I were constantly getting in trouble, I would always cuss, and my life just went bad when I got to High School. But throughout my life I kept one of my best friends (Derek Brower). When I got to High School Derek was always asking me to go to church with him to a church called Compass Bible Church. I kept telling him that I was busy or I was already going to church. But one day I went to Compass Bible Church and it was totally awesome. I still remember all of the people there; they were so welcoming and nice. This was like no Church that I had gone to before.

Summer was approaching and I had been going to Compass for a little while. And everybody was so stoked about this Missions trip that they were going to take to Mexico. I kind of shied away from it because I did not want to go on a mission’s trip. But my mom wanted me to go really bad. So I thought what could be so bad, just going to Mexico with a bunch of cool people and just having fun. The trip was way more than that.

While in Mexico we had daily devotions and sermons from different pastors. The sermons were really cool and I thought the worship was tight. Then on July 5 2007 Pastor Bobby Blakey gave a sermon. He talked about how we call our selves Christians but do not walk the walk or even talk to our friends about our faith. God spoke to me through Bobby that night. And after the sermon I went outside and God just filled me with Him it was like nothing I have ever felt before. And that night I repented of my sins and put my faith in Jesus Christ. It was such an amazing night. I just sat outside and was by myself and just looked at the stars and talked to God, it was so amazing. After that I asked a couple of old and new friends to pray for me, (h- unit and D-Money)

And that’s about it, now I am a 16 year old child of God living everyday for Him and I love it. I can not explain how much my life changed after I gave my life to God. I have made a 180 degree turn in my life. At school I have stopped getting in trouble, I have made new friends at school. It has just been so cool to see the change in my life in the past year. And most of all I owe all the thanks to God. But also I want to thank Bobby and everybody else at CBC that has helped me along the way.

yeah, I agree with anna haha. We all have a similar testimony. thought I was a christian, but really wasn't. And thought that going to church and praying the prayer was enough, but really it wasn't at all. Anyways, before I keep on going haha.... Great blog zachy! Keep it up!
